Gemini Notebook usage limits: why is my video queued?

Last verified: October 27, 2026

As of October 2026, Gemini Notebook meters usage by compute rather than fixed daily counts. Since 2 September 2026 your allowance refreshes every 5 hours, up to a weekly cap. Heavy outputs such as Video Overviews cost most, so near your limit you can queue them to generate automatically after the next reset.

In more detail

Google switched consumer Gemini Notebook accounts on web and mobile to compute-based limits on 2 September 2026. What you spend depends on prompt complexity, chat length, the number of sources and the feature: Video Overviews and Slide Decks are the most expensive. A message under the chat shows when you are close and when your limit resets, and Studio shows a usage bar before you generate. If an output would exceed your allowance, Google suggests cheaper alternatives or lets you schedule it to run once the limit resets, which is why a Video Overview can appear as queued (web first). Paid Google AI plans multiply the standard limit. Google does not publish absolute numbers. To stretch your quota, keep notebooks focused and start new chats for new questions. Notebook Toolkit cannot change Google limits; it helps you curate a tighter source set before you generate.
