Since 23 October 2026, Gemini Notebook is a Connected App in Gemini. Type @Gemini Notebook in a chat to create notebooks, add sources, save notes or ask about an existing notebook. It works in the Gemini web app and mobile app, not the Mac app yet, and is off by default in the European Economic Area.

Google added Gemini Notebook to the Connected Apps framework in Gemini chats on 23 October 2026. Gemini can also decide to call it automatically when a prompt is about your notebooks. It is available to personal Google accounts, Workspace customers and Workspace Individual subscribers, on by default globally but off by default in the EEA, where you turn it on under Connected Apps. Limits worth knowing: Gemini cannot file its own chats into a notebook through the connected app, so you still add chats by hand, and Gemini chats added as sources are read-only. To save chats from ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity as well as Gemini, Notebook Toolkit captures them in one click.
