Gemini Notebook on Google AI Plus vs Pro vs Ultra
Last verified: October 27, 2026
As of October 2026, every plan uses the same compute-based limits, scaled by a multiplier. Free accounts get the standard limit, Google AI Plus gets 2x, Google AI Pro 4x, and Google AI Ultra 5x or 20x the Pro limit depending on the subscription. Features rolling out first, such as Voice Chat, usually reach Ultra first.
In more detail
Google moved Gemini Notebook to compute-based usage limits on 2 September 2026 and expressed each paid tier as a multiple of the standard (free) allowance. Google does not publish absolute numbers, so the multiplier is the only like-for-like comparison. Higher tiers also tend to get new features first: Voice Chat in the mobile apps launched for Google AI Ultra subscribers before Pro. Prices and plan availability vary by country, so check Google One for your region before buying. If you are a student, check the separate student offer first. A higher Google plan does not change what third-party extensions can do; Notebook Toolkit works the same on every Google tier.
| Plan | Usage limit vs standard |
|---|---|
| No paid plan | Standard |
| Google AI Plus | 2x standard |
| Google AI Pro | 4x standard |
| Google AI Ultra | 5x or 20x the Pro limit, depending on subscription |
