Does Gemini Notebook have an MCP server?

Last verified: October 12, 2026

Google documents no official MCP server for Gemini Notebook and no public consumer API; its Enterprise API is a Preview for Google Cloud customers. Notebook Toolkit runs a separate remote MCP server for the library you save with it, which Claude Code, Cursor and Codex can connect to today with a personal access token.

In more detail

The Toolkit server lives at https://notebooktoolkit.com/api/mcp and speaks Streamable HTTP. It exposes the library you saved with Notebook Toolkit, not the contents of your Google notebooks: an assistant can search sources, read them in slices, pull citations in common formats, and check workspace health. On Pro it can also capture pages, tag sources, export, and queue sends to Gemini Notebook; sending is carried out by the Chrome extension when your browser is open. Free accounts can use the read tools within a daily call limit, and every token is limited per minute. Tokens are created under Settings, Connections, shown once, and can be revoked at any time. The Claude (web and desktop) and ChatGPT connectors need an OAuth flow that is not available yet, so those two cannot connect with a token today. The /mcp guide has the copy-paste setup and the full tool catalog.
