How do I use Gemini Notebook?
Go to notebook.google.com, sign in with a Google account, create a notebook and add sources such as PDFs, website or YouTube links, Google Drive files or pasted text. Then ask questions in the chat. Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM) answers from your sources with clickable citations.

Step 1: open notebook.google.com (old notebooklm.google.com links redirect there) and sign in. Step 2: create a notebook for one topic, such as a course, a project or a research question. Step 3: add sources: upload PDFs and documents, paste website or YouTube URLs, choose Google Drive files, or paste text. Step 4: ask questions and click the numbered citations to check each claim. Step 5: open the Studio panel to create Audio Overviews, Video Overviews, mind maps, reports, flashcards and quizzes. Since September 2026 the mobile app can also record lectures and hold a voice conversation with a notebook. Keep notebooks focused: since 2 September 2026, larger notebooks and longer chats use more of your compute-based quota. If you collect material from AI chats or social posts, a companion extension such as Gemini Notebook Toolkit can capture it as clean text first.
